Shougang Group delegate visited SKLAM for academic exchange

In order to fully explore and exchange metallurgical frontiers in technology, a technical team of Shougang Group visited SKLAM in the morning of 20th Oct. Professor Zhang Yanling, Professor Guo Zhancheng and Professor Li Jing attended the conference, and vice Director Zhang Yanling presided over the academic exchange.



Professor Zhang Yanling made a brief introduction to the general situation of the SKLAM. Prof. Guo Zhancheng and Prof. Li Jing gave detailed reports to the participants on the topics of low-carbon metallurgy, energy saving, and narrow-window control of molten steel quality in converter process respectively. Based on the practical problems of the industry and the current needs of the country, the two professors put forward new ideas and new technologies to solve the main problems of the iron and steel industry.





In the exchange session of the conference, participants mentioned the influence of new process principles and standards, magnesium treatment technology and rare earth element doping on steel properties, and Professor Li Jing made a comprehensive analysis of the role and interests of inclusion elements in steel for participants. Professor Guo Zhancheng also put forward his own views and opinions on the issues of decarbonization, standardization of resource supply products, and separate processing of featured materials to meet high-end special needs.









Afterwards, the participants visited the experimental equipment and instruments. Under the detailed introduction of the relevant technical teachers in the laboratory, all the participants communicated with the technical teachers on the operational problems encountered in the actual production, and further discussed the combination mode of theoretical research and practical production.









The SKLAM aims at building a high-level base for scientific research on iron and steel metallurgy, training of high-end talents and academic exchanges, establishing an academic platform for iron and steel metallurgy research, and promoting China's transformation from a big steel producer to a strong country with advanced steel science and technology. The successful academic exchange has built a bridge between theory and practice, promoted the industrial transformation of metallurgical scientific and technological achievements, and provided a new idea and direction for the development of metallurgical discipline.
