Introduction
Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Lifetime Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). Recipient of the Special Government Allowance from the State Council.
He currently serves as the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Metallurgy, Director of the Carbon Dioxide Research Center, and Director of the Beijing Key Laboratory for Melting and Preparation of High-End Metals, all at USTB. He also holds positions as Chairman of the Electrometallurgy Branch, Vice Chairman of the Special Steel Branch, and Vice Chairman of the Scrap Steel Branch under The Chinese Society for Metals.
Having taught the elite undergraduate course
Steelmaking for 25 years, he has been honored as Beijing Model Teacher (Pioneer), National Advanced Worker in Science and Technology, Outstanding Communist Party Member of Beijing, and recipient of the Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award.
He acts as Associate Editor of Industrial Heating, Editorial Board Member of Iron & Steel and Steelmaking, as well as Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy and Materials.

Awards & Honors
He led and participated in the projects
"Composite Blowing Technology and Its Application for Electric Arc Furnace Steelmaking" and
"Development and Application of High-Vanadium High-Wear-Resistant Alloys and Composite Technologies", which won the
Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award.
He has received more than ten provincial and ministerial-level awards, including the First and Second Prizes of Metallurgical Science and Technology Progress Award, First Prize, Second Prize and Technical Invention Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award issued by the Ministry of Education, National Patent Invention Second Prize, as well as Second Prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shandong Province and Tianjin Municipality.
